1. Introduction

Welcome to AI LingoPlay, an AI-based role-play app designed to help users practice their language skills through interactive role-play scenarios with an AI character. By using our app, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review them carefully. By using AI LingoPlay you agree to these terms.

2. Service Description

AI LingoPlay enables users to select a language, choose a difficulty level, pick a character to interact with, and engage in role-play scenarios. Users can hear the character speak, see responses as text, and respond using text or voice. The AI can analyse user messages for grammar tips and break down the grammar of the AI character's responses. The app is available for free without accounts, but there is currently a maximum of 10 messages per session.

3. Eligibility

There are no age restrictions for using AI LingoPlay. However, we can not be held liable for any inappropriate or offensive responses made by our third party AI services.

4. User Conduct

4.1 User Responsibilities

The app is intended solely for practicing language skills through role-play. Users should not attempt to use it as a generic AI assistant. Users must use the app in a manner that is lawful, respectful, and in accordance with these terms and conditions.

4.2 Prohibited Activities

Users are prohibited from generating harmful content, including but not limited to hate speech, harassment, or violence. Any misuse of the app for such purposes is strictly forbidden. Additionally, users must not engage in activities that could harm or disrupt the app, its services, or its users.

5. Privacy and Data Handling

5.1 Data Collection

No personal user data is collected by AI LingoPlay.

5.2 Data Usage

As no user data is collected, there is no data usage beyond the functionality of the app.

5.3 Third-party Services

AI LingoPlay uses OpenAI for role-play, language analysis, and speech-to-text functions. OpenAI retains API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days to ensure service quality and identify misuse. This data is not used for training models unless explicitly opted in by the user. Google Cloud is used for text-to-speech and translations, adhering to strict data privacy standards. SendGrid is used for email feedback and complies with data privacy regulations. To the best of our knowledge, these third-party services do not store user data beyond what is necessary for providing their services. 5.4 Data Storage

Language settings, character choices, and scenario choices are saved in local storage (which does not expire) if the user agrees, otherwise they are stored in session storage temporarily.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Content Ownership

The data generated by the AI during role-play scenarios is not owned by any party and is treated as temporary data.

6.2 Licenses

Users do not need to grant any licenses to use the content they generate during their interactions with the AI.

7. Liability and Disclaimers

7.1 Liability

AI LingoPlay is not responsible for the responses generated by OpenAI. While we strive to ensure that responses align with the chosen scenario and character, we cannot be held liable for any responses that may cause offense or any other issues.

7.2 Warranty Disclaimer

AI LingoPlay is provided "as is" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Additionally, we do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the responses generated by the AI. The service is intended for educational purposes only and should not be considered professional advice.

8. Payments and Subscriptions

8.1 Pricing

AI LingoPlay does not currently support a subscription model or take any form of payment. We hold the right to introduce subscriptions with payment in the future.

8.2 Refunds

As no payment is currently taken, refunds are not required at this time.

9. Changes and Termination

9.1 Modifications

Users are responsible for checking the Terms and Conditions for any updates or changes. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by email.

9.2 Termination

Although there are no specific ongoing terms for terminating a user's access to the app, misuse of the app for prohibited activities can result in immediate termination of access. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to, generating harmful content such as hate speech, harassment, or violence. We reserve the right to terminate access to the app for any user at our discretion.
